My kids fight over who gets to peel the shrimp first every single time we pull this out for their play kitchen. The pieces are chunky enough for small hands but still feel realistic, and the oyster actually opens and closes which is a nice touch for teaching them about seafood prep.
The oyster shells actually hold together and pop open with satisfying resistance, which keeps my three-year-old engaged for a solid twenty minutes. The shrimp pieces peel apart cleanly, so I don’t have to hover and fix broken bits every two seconds.
My kid's favorite part is shucking the oyster—the way it comes apart feels just realistic enough to keep her attention. The peeling shrimp pieces are a bit small for toddler hands, but once she got the hang of it, she started "cooking" them in her play kitchen immediately.
